Polski: W uroczystościach na Cmentarzu Wojskowym przy ul. Powązkowskiej w Warszawie wziął udział Prezydent Lech Kaczyński oraz Premier, przedstawiciele rządu, Sejmu i Senatu, a także profesorowie medycyny, lekarze, pielęgniarki i pacjenci.
Ceremonia miała charakter świecki. Trumnę z ciałem wystawiono na katafalku przed domem pogrzebowym, przykryto ją biało-czerwoną flagą. Wartę honorową pełnili przy niej żołnierze, pracownicy służby zdrowia, pacjenci oraz młodzież. Prezydent, który zabrał głos jako pierwszy, powiedział, że choć profesor Religa żył 70 lat, to dużo, dużo za krótko. – Szczególnie w przypadku człowieka, który uratował tysiące istnień ludzkich – mówił Lech Kaczyński. Prezydent przypomniał dorobek naukowy byłego ministra zdrowia i zwrócił uwagę, że był on człowiekiem, który oprócz wielu innych talentów, łączył w sobie inteligencję i zdolności manualne. - Miał olbrzymie sukcesy naukowe, które owocują dziś i będą owocowały w przyszłości, ale największym sukcesem są ci ludzie, którzy by nie żyli, a są wśród nas - podkreślił Prezydent. Lech Kaczyński podkreślił, że prof. Zbigniew Religa odniósł wielki sukces – przygotował realną reformę zdrowia i walczył o podwyżki dla personelu medycznego. - Był postacią wielką, był lekarzem ludzkich serc i człowiekiem o wielkim sercu. Cześć jego pamięci – zakończył Prezydent. Prof. Religa został pochowany w tzw. Alei Profesorskiej. Prof. Zbigniew Religa zmarł 8 marca 2009 roku w Warszawie. Był senatorem III i V kadencji. W latach 2005-2007 był ministrem zdrowia w rządzie Kazimierza Marcinkiewicza, a następnie w rządzie Jarosława Kaczyńskiego. Od 2007 do 2009 był posłem VI kadencji. Był też członkiem Międzynarodowej Kapituły Orderu Uśmiechu oraz Kawalerem i członkiem Kapituły Orderu Orła Białego. |
