Description
English: Original, stiffened chain suspension Point bridge built over Monongahela River in Pittsburgh, PA., and opened to traffic in April 1877. Was closed in 1923, and later demolished. A new, through-cantilever Point bridge was constructed and opened to traffic in June 1927, then was also demolished in 1970 and replaced by Fort Pitt Bridge.
