Description
English: 1. Polearms, end of the XVIIth century. Modern weapons used mainly in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France.

2. Venetian Consulate Emblem. From an Aegean Sea island, XVIIth century. 3. Helmets and cuirasses. A unique collection found in 1840 into a vault under the city walls of the Venetian fortress in Chalcis. Most items are of north Italian, primarily Venetian technique (XIVth-XVth century). 4. Suit of armour. Late 19th-century exact copy of 16th-century suit of armour with accompanying glaive, shield and etched decorations. 5. Marine couleuvrines, 15th century. Hauled up from the bottom of the harbour of Nafpaktos (Lepanto). 6. Cannon projectiles. Found on the Acropolis of Athens. National Historical Museum of Athens. Athens, Greece.
