Polski: Cyt:"We wschodniej części placu Wolności stoi Pomnik Wolności. Burzliwe są jego dzieje. Pod koniec XIX wieku, gdy Szamocin znajdował się w zaborze pruskim, Niemcy po zwycięskiej wojnie z Francją w 1871 roku postawili w tym miejscu Pomnik Zwycięstwa. Pięć lat po odzyskaniu przez Szamocin niepodległości, czyli 19 stycznia 1925 roku, na miejscu pomnika niemieckiego postawiono pomnik polski. Długo nie stał w tym miejscu. Po 14 latach, 11 listopada 1939 roku, pomnik został zburzony. Dopiero 11 listopada 1993 roku, w ramach obchodów 75-lecia odzyskania przez Polskę niepodległości, pomnik wrócił na swoje miejsce. Autorem rekonstrukcji jest inż. architektury Bogdan Szelmeczka, a odsłonięcia pomnika dokonał Bronisław Komorowski, ówczesny poseł ziemi pilskiej. Pod pomnikiem odbywają się najważniejsze, patriotyczne uroczystości w mieście: 19 stycznia, 3 maja, 11 listopada i 27 grudnia."
