Description The Porsche 909 Bergspyder is a race car that was built by Porsche in 1968. It was designed to compete in the newly created International Championship for Makes, which was run by the FIA. The 909 was Porsche's first mid-engined race car, and it was also the first race car to use a monocoque chassis. The 909 was powered by a 2.0-liter flat-six engine, which was capable of producing up to 210 hp. The 909 was successful in its debut season, winning the 1968 International Championship for Makes.
