English: Presumed portrait of madame Jourdan playing the lyre in a landscape, according to the family tradition which circulated among the former owners of the painting. Jeanne Nicolas (1760-1840) was the wife (1788) of Jean-Baptiste Jourdan, future Marshal of the Empire.
Français : Portrait présumé de la maréchale Jourdan jouant de la lyre dans un paysage. L'identité du personnage est connue par la tradition familiale qui circulait chez les anciens propriétaires du tableau. Il s'agirait de Jeanne Nicolas (1760-1840), épouse (1788) Jean-Baptiste Jourdan, futur maréchal d'Empire. Représentée dans un paysage et v^tue d'une robe noire, elle joue de la lyre. |
