Summary edit

Description
English: Bank(s) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA. Stated to be the oldest bank building(s) in the United States, according to a sign on the facade. Built in 1803 with subsequent modifications. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I took this photograph.
The claim "oldest building in the United States continuously occupied as a bank" was true from 1976 until 1998. The claim of "oldest bank building" was never true -- the First Bank of the United States, in Philadelphia, was built in 1796, but ceased being a bank in 1976.
