Post-Medieval to Modern Kosher Meat Seal
Description
English: Lead Seal. Cast Meat Seal bearing a Star of David in relief on one side, and the numeral 92 on the other. This was attached to an item of Kosher food - meat slaughtered and processed according to rabbinical tradition. This was reported along with a mount from a Bar Mitzvah gift, and is a further example of objects relating to the4 observance of a distinct religious belief system; in this case, Orthodox Judaism. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1850-1950.
