Description
English: Paul Gerhardt[signed]

The Ravi Varma Press Mumbai Bombay 1899 Lithograph Undivided back 12.20x8.75cm

The GPO in Bombay was already the largest post office in India when this card was produced in 1899, with tens of millions of postcards passing through in a city of less than a million. The global nature of postcards is reflected on this one, postmarked 22 March 1905 in Bombay, and April 18 1905 in Salt Lake City, Utah, US. Addressed to Miss Etta Vermillion, West 2nd Salt Lake City via San Francisco: [Verso]"Bombay 22 March Good luck Uncle Will.”
