Title
Post Medieval to Modern Seal Matrix (Intaglio)
Description
English: Incomplete glass and gilded copper alloy post Medieval to Modern seal matrix or fob seal. Only the glass intaglio part of the fob and the copper alloy frame surrounding the edges of the glass survive. The matrix is oval and of reddish-orange colour and is engraved with a female bust in Classical style facing left; the bust has drapery around the shoulders and the hair is done in an elaborate fashion with braiding.

Seal matrices of this type are typically dated to the Georgian era into the early Victorian period, c.1700-1830.
