"Ferry Pendozi, Kelowna, B. C." Postcard. SceneOchroM. Made in Canada by the Gowen, Sutton Co. Ltd., Vancouver, B.C. MV Pendozi: 122-foot, steel-hulled, 30-car ferry. Named for the first missionary in the Okanagan District, Father Pandosy. Replaced the 94-foot, wooden-hulled, 15-car ferry, MV Kelowna-Westbank (1927-39). Service operated between Kelowna and Westbank (Westside) on Okanagan Lake from May 8, 1939 to July 20, 1958. Ferry service replaced by the Kelowna floating bridge (Okanagan Lake Bridge) in July 1958. Photograph date October 1939 (likely by Leonard Frank). Postcard circa-1950.
