DescriptionPostcard from Margaret Ripley to her mother, sent 10 February 1915 (6255469490).jpg |
Sent by a nurse, Margaret Ripley, to her mother back in England. As far as I can tell (corrections and additions welcome) this reads: "10.2.15 5am Too lazy & sleepy to write letter. No parcels yet. We have opened new room 5 patients but 10 go out today. Inspector came today & raved at nothing further having been done - it never will be no one takes any notice of what he says & are content to go on in the old dirty ways. Monday morning is market day very interesting just round this tower , place packed we tried to get apples but there are none to be had in B[?]. Bad as we are so fond of them & need some extras to diet here. Longing for bed tho' sleep well from 11 to 7 Love Mar Hope you are saving all my PCs" For more details of the story behind this album see www.flickr.com/photos/whatsthatpicture/sets/7215762769463... |
