Sent by a nurse, Margaret Ripley, to her mother back in England. Note the mistake on the date she has written - both the postmark and information in the card confirm that this is actually 1915. Margaret has newly arrived in the northern French town of Bergues, close to Dunkirk. As far as I can tell (corrections and additions welcome) this reads: "Looks a nice place on a card, but is really very squalid. Just heard some more nurses are coming here horrid! Had letters from Bord[eaux] yesterday - Lils & Beas & a [stale?] one from you from Havre very pleased to get A. Our rooms are now being papered and it makes a horrid mess, stove still does not heat so miserable in evenings. Had letter from Maud asking about things will write her soon.
