Summary edit

Description
English: Routemaster bus RM1571 (reg. 571 CLT), pictured here in 1987 still wearing its former owner London Transport's red livery, but by now it was owned by a private preservationist, but on hire to Southend Transport for use on stage carriage work. It stands in a Southend Transport depot alongside the blue service buses of the Essex based company, with route blinds set for a service 1 to Southend Central bus station, via Westcliffe, Chalkwell, Leigh, Hadleigh and Thundersley. Southend Transport hired it and other Routemasters for use in various spells during 1987, before establishing their own fleet from September 1988 (see example here). RM1571 was delivered to London Transport in April 1963, but was withdrawn by October 1984. It has a sign stating 'This bus is operated by Forest District', suggesting it saw service in north London. After passing to Stagecoach in Perth, Scotland, but not being used, it was bought for preservation in August 1986. After being owned by preservationists, in 1993 it was sold to Routemaster Travel of Ruislip, and went on to see use with a number of other operators around London and the south east, before being de-roofed in an accident at Sydenham in 1999 while with Nostalgiabus. It was then converted to an open top bus, and after further service with Nostalgiabus, it was sold in 2004, reregistered to ANP 123A, and exported to a museum in Brazil.
