Deutsch: Einmachkrug aus Steinzeug. Füllvolumen 1 1/3 Liter (1,333 l). Überwiegend farblos glasiert. Oben an Bordüre, Hals und Öffnung braun glasiert. Öffnung mit Hohlkehle ausgeschliffen für luftdichte Versiegelung. Der Deckel ist nicht vorhanden. Er hatte eine dreiarmige Drehklammer aus Stahl, dessen Achse in ein Sackloch im Deckel befestigt wurde. Die Haken der Drehklammer klemmen sich auf die keilförmigen Halsüberstände zwischen den drei Einkerbungen.
Oberer Stempel: D.M. Unterer Stempel: C. Geiseler, Friedrichs-Str. 71, Berlin. Die Firma war Hoflieferant des preußischen Königs- und Kaiserhauses. Zeitgenössische Bezeichnungen: Einmachekruke, Einmachetopf oder Einmachebüchse. Vermutungen zur Bedeutung der Abkürzung D.M. nach dieser Diskussion:

Opening with smooth angled groove for hermetic sealing. Lid missing. The three notches are for the tree clamps twist lock lid. Upper stamp: D.M. Lower stamp: C. Geiseler, Friedrichsstrasse 71, Berlin. Purveyor to the court of prussia. Similar stoneware crocks from Douton & Watts (GB) or J. Bos & Zoonen (The Netherlands). Design also used during WW2 (Ointment Anti-Gas). |
