Album description.

As part of the United States’ ongoing consultations with our allies, President Obama is traveling to Poland, Belgium, and France, June 3-6, 2014. While in Warsaw, the President will hold bilateral meetings and join other world leaders in commemorating the Polish Freedom Day, marking the 25th anniversary of Poland’s emergence from Communism. From Poland, the President will travel to Brussels for the G-7 Leaders’ Summit, and will then continue on to France to participate in commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

Image title	COLLEVILLE-SUR-MER, France -- President Barack Obama speaks today to approximately 10,000 attendees at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial here June 6, commemorating the memory of the fallen Soldiers who gave their lives 70 years ago fighting to end the Nazi reign over Europe. During the ceremony approximately 400 WWII veterans sat behind the Presidents and faced the crowd while listening to the speeches, almost all reacting with standing applause but some with a hint of sadness clearly seen in their almost century-old countenance now sitting safely seven decades later only miles from where they fought for their lives. The event was one of several commemorations of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day operations conducted by the Allies during WWII, June 6, 1944. Task Force Normandy, led by the 173rd Airborne Brigade out of Vicenza, Italy, has organized 650 personnel from twenty U.S. units and six nations, at the invitation of the French government, to participate in the events happening across the region of Normandy.
