| Description | visiting the prison of the east-german secret police is something everybody should do, at least if you're german. seeing how they treated people and how the system was designed to intimidate and terrorize the population is a disturbing history lesson. these here are the luxury cells in the prison's new building. the old cells were underground and had no daylight and no ventilation whatsoever. in addition to the tour of the facilities, there also is a very well-done exhibition in the old administration building. when you're visiting berlin, make sure to take the time to travel to hohenschönhausen and visit this memorial. |
