Built by Pullman as a 6 roomette - 4 double bedroom - 6 section sleeper for the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad in 1953 and named Loblolly Pine, it later was on the Louisville & Nashville RR. Rebuilt as a business car in 1974, it was used in President Carter's 1976 campaign train. It was sold to the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1977, then transferred to the Union Pacific, where it served as the Salt Lake Superintendent's car on the Union Pacific until 1994. The car was out of service until 1997 when it was purchased by Rail Car Preservation, Inc. It arrived at the Museum in November 1997. The car meets AMTRAK and FRA standards for current opperations.
