Notes Na pintura representam-se, por certo, o comerciante João Nunes Viseu, em cuja casa, no dia anterior, foi redigida a representação ao governador, efetuada pelo padre Gregório Nazianzeno Medina de Vasconcelos e, pelo menos, os capitães Diogo Dias de Ornelas e Vasconcelos, João Agostinho Figueirôa de Albuquerque Freitas e Francisco João Moniz Escórcio Drumond da Câmara. Na guarita aparece o governador Sebastião Xavier Botelho, que só acedeu a participar no pronunciamento depois de muito instado.(Rui Carita)
