Description
English: Reviewing the control panel of an infant incubator that was given to the local Farah Hospital, U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Dante Villecco, a certified registered nurse anaesthetist in the Forward Surgical Team located on Forward Operating Base Farah, Afghanistan, teaches Magul, the head midwife at the hospital along with nine other midwives on her staff, how to use this life-saving machine, Dec. 1. The incubator, until now, has been collecting dust in a storage room of the hospital because the staff couldn't read the directions written in English included with the equipment. Through a translator assigned to the Farah Provincial Reconstruction Team, Villecco is able to show the women the step-by-step procedures so they can better treat premature babies born or brought to the hospital. After the class U.S. Navy Cmdr. Harvey Wilds, the commander of the PRT medical team, will arrange for the incubator to be transported back to the hospital along with a translated version of the user's manual.
