Description
English: WORKING PRINCIPLE OF PARABOLIC CONCENTRATING COLLECTOR
Parabolic collectors concentrate large areas of solar energy onto a small absorber tube converting that energy into heat. That large amount of energy allows parabolic collectors to heat fluids to very high temperatures. The high temperatures achieved with concentrated collectors do come with some difficulty. Parabolic trough and Dish collectors use mechanical tracking systems to orient their focal points toward the sun. When sunlight falls on the parabolic shape which is coated which is having a reflective material so that it absorbs the minimum possible light but reflects the maximum possible light that falls on its surface; the sunlight gets reflected and due to the shape of the trough it concentrates at a point which is the focus of the concave shaped trough. There are absorbing tubes running across the length of these troughs passing through the foci of the series of troughs shown in fig 3.3.
These pipes have water running in them and you can very well imagine who the system works. Since the sunlight is reflected at the focus and the tube is located at the same point, it absorbs most of this light since it is made out of special materials which absorb the heat. This heat naturally gets transferred to the water flowing inside these tubes and gets transported to along with the flowing water. This water is then utilized as boiler feed water which generates steam and that steam is used to turn the turbines which in turn provide rotary power to the electric generators. Of course the water itself is not sufficient to generate steam and the boiler also consumes fuel to convert the water into steam, yet the pre-heating of water using the freely available sunlight saves a considerable amount of fuel.

CONCLUSION We conclude that renewable source of energy can play an vital role to fulfill the energy needs of rural areas. In power generation plant, generally uses the fossil and nuclear fuels which causes environmental pollution. But the CPC collector offers pollution free operation with maximum thermal efficiency. It gives optimum output when used in steam power plant the CPC can be used for domestic water heating which offers better economical option to FPC. The need to utilize the free abundant natural resource of energy which is freely in abundance requires no recurrent expenses as other source of energy. Thus, it is regarded as the cheapest source of fuel for man Solar energy is our only inexhaustible energy source and its use offers an energy source that is clean, safe and environmentally sound. As we know that the environmental pollution caused by fossil fuels, which are now in used, has crossed all the barrier. Solar cylindrical parabolic collectors offer a pollution free operation hence its popularization is a demand of today.FUTURE WORK CPC collector can be used work as a water heater for domestic purpose, it is required to flow water continuously from absorber tube and collect it in the insulated water storage tank at the outlet of the collector. To increase the performance of CPC , automatic tracking system should be provided instead of manual tracking also to reduced delay period of orientation and optical error. In this automatic tracking system, sensors are enabled to detect the perpendicular position of the sun with respect to absorber surface. The thermal performance can be improved with variable area of the absorber. it really works upto 80 to 300 degree. and it also used as a domastic water heater ..
