由来 - この土城は三国史記に出て来る百済の蛇城(ペアムドゥリ)であって、それが「パラムドゥリ」(風納)と変化したものだと信じられている。蛇城は百済の責稽王(二八六 - 二九八)が、高句麗を防ぐために築いて、その中に宮殿建築まで建てた居城兼戍城だったが、西紀四七五年、百済が高句麗に敗れ、熊津(公州)に遷都すると共に廃城となってしまった。この土城は南北に長い楕円形であって、元来周囲は四千メートルに達したが、漢江側の西壁は一九二五年の大きな洪水で流失された。しかし、残りの三壁はうまく残っていると同時に、北壁の状況は、下の幅が三〇メートル、高さが五メートル以上で、その東壁には二箇所、門の跡も残っていて、なおかつ、この城は現存する三国時代唯一の平地城として貴重であるが、一九六四年ソウル大学校の城の中の発掘によると、地下三メートルの深さから西紀三世紀の築城を立証する住居址と遺物が出てきて、百済建国初期の生活遺跡としていっそう重要になった。
