Animal characteristics: Head-Body Length: most species around 1 m; Identification: The python usually has two rows of sub-caudal scales and anal spurs. This type of snake is known for its large size; Habitat: Tropics and subtropics; Diet: Carnivore; Reproduction: Pythons lay eggs that develop and hatch outside of the mother's body. A few species will incubate their eggs; Status: Many species are endangered due to habitat destruction and the demand for snake skin leather.
