Summary edit

Description
English: Quarrywood Henge On an elevated part of Quarrelwood are the remains of what the map describes as a henge. It is an oval area, 47 metres east to west and 42 metres north to south, enclosed by a shallow ditch inside an earth bank, and was built over 4000 years ago, in the Neolithic. It has been cleared of scrub and trees and can now be properly seen, though its size and the nature of the site make it impossible to get a complete view from ground level. This is the north-eastern section of the ditch and bank, with the interpretative board at the north side of the henge. See http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/16231/details/quarry+wood/ for full details.
