Description
English: Queen Emma of Hawaii. A book The Queen's Medical Center dates this photograph to circa 1859. A similar ambrotype was presented to Lady Jane Franklin as a farewell gift in 1861 [1]. Carte de visits by Henry L. Chase. It is not certain if Chase was the original photographer since he did not come to Hawaii until 1862.
