Русский: На данном листе представлена начальная ковровая страница корана. Это первый из пяти листов, входящих в разрозненную рукопись корана из коллекции Библиотеки Конгресса. Вместе с другим листом данный лист образует двухстраничный иллюминированный фронтиспис прекрасного, хотя и поврежденного, корана мамлюков 14-го века. Лист содержит стихи 76–78 из 56-ой главы корана "al-Waqi'ah" ("Воскресение"), которые заключены в верхней и нижней прямоугольных вставках двухстраничного иллюминированного фронтисписа. На следующем листе содержится продолжение – стихи 56:79–80. В этих стихах коран представлен как благословенная драгоценная книга, ниспосланная Аллахом, которой должны касаться только физически и духовно чистые люди. Il s'agit du premier des cinq feuillets appartenant à un manuscrit du coran dispersé des collections de la Bibliothèque du Congrès. Accompagné d'un autre feuillet, ce feuillet constitue le frontispice double-page enluminé d'un coran mamelouk du XIVe, magnifique bien qu'endommagé. Ce feuillet comprend les versets 76 à 78 du 56e chapitre du Coran : al-Waqi'ah (L'inéluctable). Ceux-ci figurent dans les panneaux rectangulaires supérieurs et inférieurs du frontispice double-page enluminé. Le texte continue sur le feuillet suivant avec les versets 56:79–80. Ces versets présentent le coran comme un livre béni et sacré révélé par Dieu, qui ne doit être touché que par ceux qui sont purs, à la fois physiquement et psychologiquement. L'ensemble ou des parties de ces cinq versets apparaissent sur des pages-tapis ornementales destinées à introduire le coran ou à en séparer plusieurs parties. La pièce centrale est formée d'un hexagone prolongé pour former des polygones alternant l'or et le bleu et de quatre étoiles à huit branches dans chaque coin du cadre rectangulaire. Les lignes créant les formes, tout comme les inscriptions, sont exécutées à l'encre blanche. Les polygones alternent des motifs dorés sur fond bleu et un motif bleu sur fond doré, tandis que les étoiles à huit branches contiennent des palmettes et des motifs dorés en forme de bulbe sur fond bleu. La bordure autour du panneau est formée d'un entrelac de zigzags dorés.

It is the first of five folios belonging to a dispersed Qur'an manuscript in the collections of the Library of Congress. Together with another folio, this folio constitutes the double-page illuminated frontispiece of a beautiful, albeit damaged, 14th-century Mamluk Qur'an. This folio contains verses 76–78 of the 56th chapter of the Qur'an, al-Waqi'ah (The inevitable), contained in the top and bottom rectangular panels of the double-page illuminated frontispiece. The next folio continues the inscription with verses 56:79–80. The verses introduce the Qur'an as a blessed and precious book revealed by God, which must be touched only by those who are pure both physically and psychologically. All or parts of these five verses appear on decorative carpet pages intended to begin the Qur'an or to separate various parts of it. They remind the reader of the sacred character of the Qur'an, while providing an artistic, visual break from the text itself. The decorative patterns and palette of this carpet page are typical of 14th-century Mamluk Qur'ans made in Egypt. The centerpiece consists of a hexagon prolonged to form alternating gold and blue polygons and four eight-pointed stars in each corner of the rectangular frame. The lines creating the forms, just like the inscriptions, are executed in white ink. The polygons alternate between gold designs on a blue ground and a blue design on a gold ground, while the eight-pointed stars contain palmette and bulb-like gold motifs on a blue ground. The border around the edge of the panel consists of interlacing gold zigzags.

É a primeira de cinco folhas pertencente a um manuscrito disperso do Alcorão nas coleções da Biblioteca do Congresso. Juntamente com outra folha, esta folha constitui o frontispício de página dupla ilustrada de um belo, embora danificado, Alcorão mameluco do século XIV. A folha contém os versículos 76-78 do capítulo 56, al-Waqi'ah (O inevitável), contidos nos painéis retangulares superior e inferior do frontispício ilustrado de página dupla. Es el primero de cinco folios que pertenecen a un Corán manuscrito disperso en las colecciones de la Biblioteca del Congreso. Junto con otro, este folio constituye el frontispicio iluminado de página doble de un hermoso, aunque dañado, Corán mameluco del siglo XIV. Este folio contiene los versículos de 76 a 78 del 56.º capítulo del Corán, al-Waqi'ah (Lo que ha de ocurrir), en los paneles rectangulares superior e inferior del frontispicio iluminado de página doble. El folio siguiente continua la inscripción con los versículos 56:79-80. Éstos introducen al Corán como un libro bendito y preciado, revelado por Dios, que sólo debe ser tocado por los que sean puros tanto física como psicológicamente. Los cinco versículos, ya sea en parte o en su totalidad, aparecen en páginas tapiz decorativas que tenían como objetivo introducir el Corán o separar diversas secciones. Recuerdan al lector del carácter sagrado del Corán, al tiempo que sirven de pausa artística y visual del texto mismo. Los diseños y la paleta decorativos de esta página tapiz son típicos de los Coranes mamelucos del siglo XIV realizados en Egipto.
