1906-ban zajlott le gróf Thököly Imre hamvainak késmárki, valamint II. Rákóczi Ferenc, Zrínyi Ilona, gróf Bercsényi Miklós, gróf Csáky Krisztina, gróf Esterházy Antal, Sibrik Miklós és Rákóczi József földi maradványainak kassai újratemetése. A fővárosban október 28-án monumentális gyászünnepséget tartottak a Törökország felől ide érkező hamvak tiszteletére.
