Description Two U.S. Navy North American RA-5C Vigilante reconnaissance planes (BuNos 156640, 156643) of heavy reconaissance squadron RVAH-12 Speartips in 1979. RVAH-12 had been assigned to Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-60) for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 3 October 1978 to 5 April 1979. This was the last deployment of RVAH-12, which was disestablished on 2 July 1979. The RA-5C BuNo 156643 is today on display at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland (USA).
