Summary edit

Description
English: Aerial photograph of Grove airfield looking east, Wantage is to the right, 21 April 1943. Photograph taken by 13th Photographic Squadron, 7th Photographic Reconnaissance Group, sortie number US/13PH/207. English Heritage (USAAF Photography). Visible outside the airfield perimeter at the 6 o'clock position is the road structure of the later bomb store to a 1942 pattern. Zooming in shows evidence of an early war 1940 bomb store layout typified by a 'knuckleduster' road layout. It was usual to supplement this type of inefficient store with the addition, later, of the September 1942 pattern but in this case - possibly due to land restraints - the original store has been overbuilt.
