Summary edit

Description
English: The United States Flag comes down for the last time at RAF Honington. The airfield, which was the first transferred to the United States Army Air Forces for its use in 1942, was the last to be returned to the Air Ministry on 26 February 1946. With this ceremony, the last USAAF organized unit was inactivated in the United Kingdom. This simple ceremony shows USAAF General Emil Kiel, the last commander of the Eighth Air Force in England shaking hands (Inset) and saluting the American Flag as it is brought down; to be replaced by that of the Royal Air Force
