Description

Built in 1918 by Wolseley Motors in Birmingham. In 1924 it became a Skywriting aircraft with Savage Skywriting Co Ltd, registered 'G-EBIC'. Three ex Savage aircraft survive. One flies from Old Warden, a second is displayed in the Science Museum in South Kensington, London and the third is the Hendon example seen here. There is some confusion over the construction number, which is either 687 or 688, the other being the Science Museum aircraft, 'G-EBIB'. It joined the Nash collection in 1936 and after years of static appearances at shows and events, it moved to Hendon in January 1972, where it has remained since. Now on display in the Grahame-White Factory, RAF Museum Hendon.
