DescriptionRAF Stapleford Tawney aerial photograph WWII IWM HU 93061.jpg |
English: IWM Collections : Vertical aerial view of RAF Stapleford Tawney, Essex. Aircraft of No. 277 Squadron RAF, including Westland Lysanders, Boulton Paul Defiants and a Supermarine Walrus, can be seen parked around the perimeter track in the north-western (i.e. top-left) quadrant of the airfield, and in front of the hangars and technical site buildings next to the A113, Ongar Road, (top), which have also been camouflaged. The straight lines on the grass airfield are drainage runs to prevent waterlogging. |
