Description
English: Royal Fleet Auxiliary Armament Stores Carrier RFA Amherst at Devonport Dockyard during the Plymouth Navy Day, August 1961. Launched in 1935 as Fort Amherst, a 3,489 GRT cargo and passenger liner for Furness, Withy's Red Cross Line. She was converted into an RFA in 1951–2. Scanned photograph taken with a simple Brownie 127, hence dubious quality.
