English: U.S. Army air crew members aboard a CH-47 Chinook helicopter assigned to the 25th Army Air Cavalry transport members of Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF 178) to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to support the Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief (HA/DR) response during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014. The CJTF will coordinate with local government, international organizations and non-governmental organizations to provide HA/DR to people affected by natural disaster. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
