DescriptionRJ Alvarez (cropped).jpg |
English: Our U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division Artillery Color Guard represented the Division at today's Syracuse Mets Opening Day game! It was a great show of North Country community support by our Mountain Thunder Team. Mookie Wilson, the great former Major League Baseball outfielder, threw the ceremonial opening pitch. Wilson is remembered as the Met who hit the ground ball that rolled through Bill Buckner's legs in the bottom of the 10th inning of game six of the 1986 World Series. Dom Cambareri, Executive Director of Syracuse Challenger Baseball, sang the Star-Spangled Banner national anthem. Syracuse Challenger Baseball is the oldest and largest baseball league for adults and children with disabilities in the world. |
