Description

Stamp of Romania; 1979; commemorative stamp of the issue "Preolympic Games to the XXII Summer Olympic Games 1980 in Moscow - History of the Olympic Games - Stadiums"; stamp motive with a bird's-eye view of the "Olympiastadion" in Munich (Bavaria, West-Germany) as one of the venues of the XX Olympic Summer Games in 1972. The stadium was built 1968-1972 by the construction firm Bilfinger+Berger after plans of the architect Günter Behnisch (together with Fritz Auer and other architects from the firm "Behnisch und Partner", later under co-working with Frei Otto). The Stadium has a capacity of 57,660 places (1972), after buiding alteration and renovation in 2010 and 2011: 69,250, contemporary until to 80,000.; All qualifications competitions for the XXII Olympic Summer Games 1980 in Moscow are summarized under the term "Pre-Olympic Games 1980".; stamp as right margin piece of a sheet; mint stamp
