Description
Deutsch: Der achteckige Taufstein im nationalen Kulturdenkmal Marienkirche Reutlingen wurde 1499 von Martin Schmidt im Stil der Spätgotik erschaffen. In der dreiteiligen Gliederung stehen zuoberst acht Apostel unter Baldachinen. Gegen den Uhrzeigersinn sind erkennbar: Bartholomäus, Philippus, Jakobus der Jüngere und teilweise Jakobus der Ältere. In den acht Nischen sind die Taufe Christi und die sieben Sakramente dargestellt: das Sakrament der Ehe und das Sakrament der Buße sind auf dem Foto sichtbar. Unterhalb der Nischen sind jeweils liegende Tierfiguren zwischen den Sockeln, auf denen die Apostel stehen, ausgeführt.
