Italiano: STATUA ANTROPOMORFA in posizione eretta dal lungo busto con arti superiori e inferiori breviformi. Le braccia scendono aderenti al corpo con mani che convergono in direzione dell'ombelico. La testa ha forma ovale con occhi chiusi a chicco di caffé posti dentro grandi cavità orbitali; naso di forma triangolare, piccola bocca chiusa:
Queste statue rappresentano figure di capi (senza essere ritratti di nessuna persona in particolare) e sono poste insieme alle figure delle moglie, dei figli e dei servitori in un edificio apposito. Altre statuette (biteki) spesso dotate di cavità in cui piazzare la ""medicina"" sono usate dai guaritori (nganga) a scopi terapeutici. |
