Italiano: TESTA - Volumi appiattiti e grande fornte ovoidale. Occhi a chicco di caffé sormontati da un'alta arcata sopraccigliare, orecchie sporgenti, naso triangolare con narici forate, bocca aperta posta in prossimità del mento.

Queste teste in terracotta avevano un uso funerario; venivano create dalle vasaie in occasione della morte di un capo o di un anziano di rango. Si tratta di figure commemorative che ritraggono il defunto anche se in modo generico e idealizzato. Non venivano messe insieme al cadavere , ma in un boschetto adiacente al cimitero dove venivano raccolti vasi per raccogliere le offerte sacrificali (Cole e Ross 1977).

Alcune di queste sculture venivano dipinte di nero, ma spesso il colore è scomparso con il tempo. Testimonianze di viaggiatori permettono di far risalire questa tradizione almeno al XVI secolo. Il loro uso, in qualche area, è continuato fno agli anni Settanta del XX secolo.
