| Description |
English: Railway bridge over the River Great Ouse. This bridge takes the Breckland Line (linking with Norwich/Norfolk) over the River Great Ouse. Another bridge > 1618506 situated immediately to the north-east of this one takes the line over an unnamed road which runs parallel with the river, a short distance south-west of the level crossing on the B1382 > 1618491.
Ely North Junction is located at Queen Adelaide, approximately one-and-a-half miles north of Ely station. From Ely North Junction the electrified ex-GER London-Kings Lynn mainline runs north to Littleport, Downham Market and Kings Lynn. Two non-electrified double-track lines branch at North Junction: one diverges northeast to Norwich (it is marketed as "Breckland Line") and the other northwest to March and Peterborough where there are connections to the East Coast Mainline (ECML) to Scotland and the route to Birmingham. |
