Title
English: Rainier Restaurant and Bakery advertising card, ca. 1920
Description
English:

Jim Boldt's Rainier Restaurant & Bakery was located at 913 Second Avenue. Jim Boldt was a caterer and restaurateur who came to Seattle from Kansas in 1909 to set up a concession stand at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. Boldt fed Seattle for 51 years, either from his various restaurants, bakeries, and concession stands, or at catered events. Boldt was also president and major stockholder of the Seattle Indians baseball team from 1919 to 1923. This peach-colored advertising card prominently displays a plum colored pennant with a photo of Boldt holding a hot cup of coffee and the assurance "GEE! But this coffee is good."
