This window waith a dedication to Lieutenant Ralph Royds Brocklebank is in the cloisters of Chester Cathedral, west walk, no.W1. Lieutenant Ralph Royds BROCKLEBANK Royal Navy and 1st Welch Fusiliers, born 21st June 1897 and gave his life for his country 16th May 1917, aged 19. Son of Ralph Eric Royds Brocklebank & Constance Alington Royds of Charlton Mackrell, Somerset. Native of Bedington, Cheshire Buried at Achiet-Le-Grand, Communal Cemetery, Extension, Pas de Calais, France. Major Ralph Eric Royds Brocklebank was born in 1870; in 1896, at age 25, he married Constance Alington Royds, born on October 9 1872, in Little Barford, Bedfordshire, England nr St Neots, Huntingdonshire, England. Major Ralph Eric Royds Brocklebank, The King's Regiment (Liverpool) born at Wavertree, Liverpool, died 13 February 1921 (aged 50), son of Thomas Brocklebank, J.P., D.L. Arms: Brocklebank (Azure, an escallop or between three brocks (badgers) statant argent on a chief invected of the second a cockrel of the third between two escallops of the field) impaling Royds (Ermine, on a cross engrailed between four lions rampant gules a spear in pale proper between four bezants, Burke's General Armory, 1884, p.877, Royds of Elm House, Wavertree, Liverpool & confirmed in 1828 to James Roydes, DL, of Mount Falinge, nr. Rochdale, Lancs.)
