Description
English: Rampyndene, Burwash High Street. This imposing red brick house sits on the south side of the village High Street. It was built in 1699 for a local wealthy wool merchant. Note its arched front porch. Beyond is St Bartholomew's Church which is mainly Victorian but has a Norman tower dating back to 1090. It also contains Britain's oldest cast-irom tomb slab and a memorial to Rudyard Kipling's son.
