English: Red House, Wyton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. One of half a dozen large houses with ornamental grounds which make up most of Wyton hamlet, built mainly in the 18th century for wealthy business people and professionals from Hull. Red House was originally called Wyton Villa and was built towards the end of the 18th century. Wyton is an Anglian name meaning 'the women's farm'. |
