| Description |
Bryce Canyon National Park is one of my most favorite National Parks - it is compact, has great hiking trails, and has incredible scenery. I had another chance to visit it on a gorgeous morning in October 2012 - I do need to go back and spend more time there - it's on my post retirement list already! Most of these photos are from the Rim trail since I didn't have enough time to take some of the longer trails that go into the canyon but if you have a chance, go for it - you won't be disappointed! One other tidbit I should have known but didn't make the connection, unlike other canyons (Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon, Black Canyon of the Gunnison) Bryce Canyon does not have a river flowing through it. All the erosion is caused by either rain or water freezing and thawing - pretty impressive! |
