| Description |
English: Regrowth from last year's muir burn. The keeper of a grouse moor like this systematically burns small patches of heather each year in the spring. Over a period of years the heather regrows to provide young shoots for grouse and sheep to eat. If you have too many sheep on a moor the young heather is overgrazed giving a chance for among other things bracken to invade the grazings. In the picture here young shoots of heather and blaeberries can be seen. |
