The photo album contains 178 pictures from Josef Terboven's inspection trip to German military troops and installations in Northern Norway, Finland, and the Murmanskfront (German: Eismeerfront, Lizafront, Litsa Front, later Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive) in the fall of 1942. Terboven (1898–1945) was Nazi Germany's Reichskommissar (RK) in German-occupied Norway during World War II from 1940 to 1945. The Finnish opera singer Aulikki Rautawaara (1906–1990) was part of Terboven's entourage and appears in many of the photos.
