  • Photo taken during Reich Commissioner Josef Terboven's visit to military facilities in Northern Norway and Finland (Finnish Lapland) in the autumn of 1942, here from the areas on the German side of the Murmansk Front (German: Murmansk-Front, Eismeerfront, Nordfront, Liza-Front, Litsa Front, see the Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive) in the Petsamo (Pechenga) region captured by the Soviet Union during the Winter War with Finland, allegedly near Kärtnerhöhe and der Steinkogl at the Litsa Bay (Litzabucht, Lizafjord, Sapadnaja Liza, Pechenga Fjord) in present-day Russia.
The wooden signpost points in the direction of Aufnahme, presumably an infirmary, and is decorated with a humorous carving of a German mountain infantry soldier (Gebirgsjäger) and the dialect expression Do wirst g'sund, meaning "you'll get well".

The photo album contains 178 pictures from Terboven's inspection trip to German military troops and installations in Northern Norway and Finland in the fall of 1942. Terboven (1898–1945) was Nazi Germany's Reichskommissar (RK) in German-occupied Norway during World War II from 1940 to 1945.
