DescriptionRemains of anti-tank ditch from WWII - geograph.org.uk - 749793.jpg |
English: Remains of anti-tank ditch from WWII. Remains of an anti-tank ditch, erected as part of the coastal crust defences in 1940/41 at the edge of this cliff in order to block entrance from the beach. Defence of Britain database site reference: S0001011
The cliffs here are very low; sea water appears to be coming over during particularly high tides, depositing debris in this gully. Access to the shingle beach is possible at this point, the nearest access back up onto the headland lies about 700 metres further to the west > 749727. |
