English: Remains of lime-kiln. See the main item: 1232836, which shows the pit of the kiln.
The downhill edge of that pit is visible at the upper-left of the present image; there is an opening in the wall at that point, with a scattering of stones in front of it. Many of these stones have faces flattened in such a manner as to suggest that they were previously part of a wall, presumably that of the kiln itself. Auchincarroch Hill is situated centrally in the background of this photograph. |
